Now added some error checking to the #Python script controlling the #Arduino pager transmitter; and managed to add a very basic interactive input facility to change the message that is transmitted to the pager.

Even worked out how to use git so have created a gitlab project for the code if anyone is curious about how its done.

repurposed a 10 year old Dell that previously ran Windows XP recovered from work as obsolete (it still has a floppy drive!) - still working and has 3,5 gigs of RAM so decided to use it for something.

It now runs #Debian Stretch x64 with #XFCE desktop (although the photos show tootstream running in a virtual terminal session) - am going to use it for some #Linux coding and hardware interfacing projects (thermal printer, Arduino etc..)
