Sisso: Torquato Tasso (1544-1595) was an Italian writer and poet known for his Gerusalemme liberata (1575), an epic poem on the first crusade that takes the battle between good and evil very seriously. Founded by Peter the Great in 1714 in St. Petersburg, it was the first national, public library in Russia. The town is famous for its textile industry and weir-fishing.
