Asenki: Italian scientist Alessandro Serpieri (1823-1885) was a teacher of mathematics and physics. He studied occultations of stars by the planets, but most of his work was in geometry, including the invention of the barycentric calculus. An ode to Ninkasi, inscribed in cuneiform on 4000-year old clay tablets, provides a recipe that was used successfully by Fritz Maytag and Solomon H. Katz to recreate Sumerian beer.
